Due to lower than expected nominations, Sport Hawke’s Bay has made the decision to postpone the 2025 Forsyth Barr Hawke’s Bay Sport & Recreation Awards 2025. 

The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of our community, including its athletes, teams, clubs, coaches, and officials. These awards recognise innovation, excellence, and contributions to sport and recreation across Hawke’s Bay, from grassroots participation to elite performance.  

While we received some fantastic entries, the overall number of nominations was insufficient to uphold the high standard of competition and recognition these awards represent. 

We understand the importance of acknowledging the achievements of our community, and we are committed to delivering an event that truly reflects the depth of talent and contribution across Hawke’s Bay.  

We will review the awards process and work closely with our community to encourage greater participation. The new date for the awards will be announced in due course.
